Just watch the anime
So I am not sure if you noticed throughout the season, but I really really liked this anime. For an Iseki anime, it is actually pretty unique in what it does. Whether that be the group size, how the hero overcomes the obstacles, or how the hero goes about his business. It is actually quite amazing in that sense. Well, I think so anyway, I know that there is a lot of plot armor and stuff in the anime as well, but you know, who cares. I liked the story and the idea behind it. Starting with the fact that an entire class is summoned to this new world.
Having multiple people summoned is not an unusual thing, but having a large group of people summoned is definitely something that I do not recall seeing anywhere in the world. So that adds a whole new level of depth to the story. What are the interactions between each of the characters? How will the larger group affect the world when things turn bad, stuff like that. Then there is the hero's motivations.
Now make no mistake Hajime 1.0 is kind of your standard loser. He just wanted to play with the cool kids. So that is why he ended up in the labyrinth in the first place. However, I do like how he snaps and manages to come to the conclusion that this was all bullshit. I mean, do not get me wrong it takes a pretty traumatic experience for someone who is ordinarily passive to actually break out of that cycle. Then with the drive, he managed to go about gaining all the power he needed.
One of the best parts about this anime is how he manages to make guns and stuff. That added an impressive level of depth to the anime. It also offered a lot of different solutions when dealing with enemies on a large scale. It would have been interesting to see him do more hand to hand stuff, but that is just a preference. It does not really mean much outside of the fact that you wonder how much of the strength is the gun and him.
Overall, this anime is just a fun one to watch. I especially enjoy the ending. It was surprisingly satisfying to watch Hajime freak out all of his former classmates. Sadly, I do not know if we will get a season two, so I had better keep on reading the manga. I highly recommend this anime to anyone who wants a new take on the Iseki genre.
