Boku no Tsuma wa Kanjou ga Nai
I will rate this after I am done with other anime and stuff
That was a very long 22 minutes
So what can I say? This anime sucks. I thought it would be a bit more substantive, but it turns out that expecting something enjoyable or at least tolerable is my mistake. This anime has a good premise, so do not get me wrong. I enjoy the idea of someone slowly treating his new toy more and more like a wife. However, this was really stupid. For starters, the drinking.
Yup, to process his thoughts, our nameless main character gets drunk. When he starts thinking about how the robot is cute and how he might have fallen in love with her, he just starts chugging down the booze. I wish there was more to this, but there is not. Then, he gets drunk and forgets that the robot is programmed to remember patterns and commands.
I mean, really, he is confused by the robot suddenly not wanting to keep her eyes open? How did that happen? I think that if you are dumb enough not to realize that a fully independent robot servant does not have some keywords that it listens for when doing its job, then you do not deserve to own that device. I mean, really, why would you do this stuff? It is not like it is capable of thought or anything. Granted, I was concerned about the whole internet thing.
If there were one thing that I would do, it would be to turn off the robot's internet connection. We all know that those things can report back on you. You do not need the robot trying to figure things out for itself. I only need the internet for it to make new foods. Not to learn about the world around me. What would the point of that robot be? Either way, the main character is rather annoying to watch as well.
You literally buy something to take care of the housework, and you want to help with the housework? Not to mention the fact that he acts like a 12-year-old boy who is talking to his crush. I understand that anime is supposed to depict your average everyday man, but this behavior is abnormal. I cannot stress that enough. I have to wonder what kind of crippling trauma he had to have gone through to act this way about something he knows is a machine. Regardless, I am disappointed.
I thought I could get an anime about a guy who slowly, over time, starts up some kind of relationship with his new toy. That is perfectly normal to do with something that is capable of having a conversation with you. Instead, I have a loser who just wants a girlfriend and a robot designed to pay attention to its owner's likes and dislikes and move accordingly. The only part about leaving this anime behind is I will never know the answer to the question. Does out main character have the balls to go out and buy the marriage parts so he can be a proper man of the future?
