Today was Halloween?
Notice the question mark, because I really have to wonder if today was really Halloween? I know that October 31st is Halloween. However, I cannot help but feel this holiday no longer exists. Seriously, it just feels like we want to skip this holiday and get right to giftmas. There are a few reasons I have to say this.
Reason number one, all of the Halloween stuff had been moved to the back of the various stores I visited. I have to ask, why could that not have waited till tomorrow? Seriously, Costco had moved all of their Halloween stuff to the back of the warehouse. I even think I saw some clearance tags on them. It is not even November first yet. Then at King Soopers they had almost finished putting out their giftmas stuff. Again really, this could not have waited until November first?
Speaking of giftmas decorations, one shopping plaza I drove by today had already put all of its giftmas decorations up. Are you kidding me? Seriously, I know this is called the "Holiday Season". Still they could not have started doing that first thing in the morning on November first? I mean wow, people are really jumping the gun these days.
Which brings to mind the next question, where the did Thanksgiving go? Really, a Holiday that has serious historical relevance to the United States, and we pretend like it does not even exist. I say we petition, the government, and get every major/pretend holiday that occurs in October, November and December turned into some kind of giftmas. After all we do not see to care about the other two.
