The MCU Marathon Part 1
Wow it is kind of strange thinking about the fact that infinity war has finally come around. To think that this was just speculation that started over a decade ago. So like any good fan, I am going to rewatch all the original movies that have lead up to this point. After a little research I learned that there are 18 movies... I probably should have started this sooner given that I am going to a Thursday showing. Anyway, sadly this will let some anime stack up but I guess that is a good thing. Always nice to have short marathons of stuff that I want to watch. So back to things that I can talk about these old movies.
It is still weird thinking about them as old. However, they are old, and I love how well they have held up. I mean I can rewatch Ironman and still feel like it is just as good the first time I watched it. Well just as good in the "This is so awesome" factor. Well I guess that is my only factor so that is going to be something that I have to think about at a later date. Anyway, it is so nice how well it holds up. It is shiny and explody and all that good stuff that you really enjoy that makes these movies great.
Then I almost forgot about the Hulk movie in this universe. You forget that certain actors backed out because they did not get to have the scenes that they wanted or something stupid like that. Oh well I guess that is their loss there is no real reason to get all bent out of shape over it but still it is kind of sad to think about how this was the one place where they would have to just take the hit and hire someone else. To Marvel's credit though I definitely think of the new actor more than I think of the old actor. Sadly, there are not many reasons to make anymore of these movies.. well I am not sure if that is sad or not. The movies would be pretty bland and basic.
Then there is Thor, another one that has been forgotten. You can really see the growing pains in these movies seriously. Making this whole mixed universe must have been very confusing. Now the references to other movies and cameos and stuff are pretty seamless that is what experience gets you though. I took them up until the first avengers movie to really get this whole shared universe thing down. It is great that these movies are making so much money and we get to have this obnoxious investment into a movie where all the actors come together and act out stuff.
So yeah things are going some what smooth I guess there is not much to really think about here. I mean yeah the first couple of movies had their growing pains and that makes them great. You can see how they wanted to try and build things up but you know that is just something that you have to get used too. These series rarely end up being what you expect them to be on the drawing board. Still it is fun to see how marvel has advanced its moving making abilities over the year. You almost forget that at one point their humor was not all that great and they tried to have more of the gritty superhero movies and stuff. Well back to the grind only 15 more movies to go. Hmm crap better make sure I get through at least 4 today or tomorrow. Hmmm. Well anyway back to the movie watching.
