What to Watch Returns
So finally after so many season I manage to get my act together and tell you what you should watch because I know how much people worship what I say. I know it is so hard to choose but your time is worth more than mine so I guess there is a lot of stuff to think about. True I am excited about more anime this season than other seasons but that does not mean they are all worth the watch so let me see if I can distill things down a bit so that way you do not have to spend too much time on it.
So I guess this one is a surprise for me and that is Toji no Miko. I was not expecting to really think this one would be any good. It had the stench of crappy phone game with lots of cute characters which some how manages to make millions of dollars. However, I have to say that I am rather surprised at how interesting the story is. It is not everyday that an anime like this one has a rebellion going on. I mean yeah you have plenty of cliches, but overall I am interested enough to watch it when it comes out.
Onward to the obvious one Grancrest Senki. I bet this one would come as no surprise to anyone as this one is one of my favorites. Maybe it is because it reminds me of Lodoss war but still this one has merits on its own. Whether it be the interesting way the feudal system works or the whole violence thing or the fact that it is kind of strange to wonder who is really in charge of things. Well in charge or the main characters story it can be very hard to tell from time to time. It is always interesting to see what will happen next and therefore you should give it a good watch.
More magic girls are coming with Marchen Madchen. Once you get past the whole gym uniform fetish thing the series is surprisingly solid. Though like a lot of magical girl anime it does not really make sense as to why these powers are only granted to girls but who cares. There is an interesting enough setting that you can see why the world would be an interesting place. Still it is fun to watch and see what will end up happening as the ever traditional tournament happens and we all get to see what happens when the main character gets her act together.
I guess I will end the list with Ryuuou no Oshigoto! I am not sure why this one works out so well for me. I mean it is not like I have learned anything about Shogi or something like that. Still I find myself wanting to watch the anime. There is not much else I can really say about it. I find it very amusing how our friendly Ryou is trying to juggle two disciples like he is cheating on his girlfriend. There is plenty of stuff like that to go around. Luckily for me, as well, they are not going down the dark path of obnoxious loli crap like certain other basketball anime have in the past.
So there you have it a short list of stuff that you should keep on the radar for the rest of the season. Not too often will you find a short list like this one. I am doing my best to make sure these lists are short otherwise they seem pointless. Still I hope there are not too many surprises on this like I am sure the one that will be more surprising is the next one which should be out soon.
