Some Predictions For Winter
So this season is shaping up to be an interesting one that is for sure. It is rare that I find myself actually keeping up with more than 3 anime and not just doing random marathons. However, sadly it is taking too long to get to the new good stuff so I can finally make all the good informed decisions by using my mind and stuff. Still there are some things which and standing out as a bit of a disappointment. However, maybe I will change my mind on a few of them, but here are a few predictions for what I feel will not be stuff to watch, but you will have to wait a couple of weeks to find out if I am correct.
Let's start off with the CLAMP. Yup another Card Captor Sakura has appeared. Which I was kind of excited about it was going to be nice to see all the stuff that was left out of the English version and so far that has been very amusing. However, then I realized it is a lot of the same all over again. Something happens to Sakura, Sakura has to capture cards, cards get captured, Sakura wears obnoxious outfits, the end. This is the same problem that Ranma had. However, I guess that it is a cult classic over there so I am sure it will do just fine
Next up should be an obvious one Dagashi Kashi 2. While the series itself is interesting and has a lot of neat facts about it. It is just more of the same, the main characters running around talking aboug Dagashi. I mean the whole premise of the story was to get Kokonotsu to take over the shop and really there has not been anything to put the show in that direction. They just more or less act as a history/advertisement for the entire Dagashi industry. Which is interesting but makes it hard to watch because I know that I will never get cool stuff like that.
So the next couple might be a surprise, first I have Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku. Another anime about a guy who gets sucked into another world and becomes over powered and has a bunch of female followers. We have all the check boxes on this one covered. Otherwise pathetic or uninteresting male with no real connections. That male gets sucked into another world, check. That male becomes over powered to the point of where he is invincible, check. Something is sad in the world and all the ladies need a boyfriend, check. As you can see this is another one of those anime where nothing is really going to happen. Chances are we might leave it on a cliff hanger or something, but eh.... hard to get into it when this is the 3rd one I have seen in so many seasons.
Then there is Overlord 2, which upsets me a lot. While I can understand what they are doing in this arch of the series. Well they need to make sure they get 26 episode. For the most part the main character of the story has all but been written out. He makes, essentially, cameos which is kind of upsetting because we want to see what he is doing. However, I guess you need to lay the foundation for his taking over of the world. I guess maybe they should not call it an Overlord series just make it part of that universe. Which is kind of sad I really enjoyed the last season.
I guess that is all I will say to ruin the season for now. I am not really one to try and get things to be upsetting but at the same time I am not really feeling any of those series. Still I have to wonder exactly what will happen maybe it is just the first couple of episode ramp up. Most companies these days are good about keeping their series ramping up slowly enough to build an audience and then trap us all in so I am optimistic to say the least, but at the same time I cannot be too optimistic when I see so many different series doing the same thing over and over and over again. I mean seriously why can't we ever just find the original ideas instead of always falling back on the old patterns.. then again I guess in Japan they will like that way more than we do over here in America.
