The Good Stuff For Fall 2014
Well now I am sure that some of you are stuck and wondering exactly what to watch for the rest of the season. Some of your are probably also wondering what this slacker is doing and not giving out his ever so important opinion the top anime to watch this season. Yup that is my story and I am sticking to it. Well a bit of good news for me I am just being lazy, my top picks were pretty easy to figure out this time around. Which is something new that I am not really used too. Anyway, let me start off with one of my favorites for the season,
Yay weird obnoxious magical girl anime. This is one of the times I will actually give some kind of biased. Ore, Twintails ni Narimasu is an anime that is definitely worth watching... you know if you enjoy obnoxious humor that does not really make sense. Really I just have to say I love this anime because of Souji. He is probably the only guy around who turns into a girl and then does not play with the fun stuff. No instead he plays with the twin tails. Which is something that is just... well hilarious to me. I also enjoy the bad guys who have a seemingly random set of fetishes. Some make sense, you know boobs, bloomers, loli. Then there is the one who liked girls holding stuffed animals... huh... Anyway, this one is one that I recommend, it is just a random good time.
Okay let's do a complete 180 and pick up something a bit less obnoxious. Grisaia no Kajitsu is another pick I have for this season. It is one of those anime that is dark, but tries to be funny. Really the main thing that brings me to watch this anime every week is pure curiosity. Plain and simple, I want to know everyone's story. What exactly do you have to do to get into this prison school? I mean really a full size school for 6 students? Anyway, the setting tries to be very light hearted. However, the overall plot is not exactly happy. It is kind of interesting to see what issues they might tackle during the show. Then there is the fun part of figuring out what kind of crazy all these girls are.
Now back to silly and cute. Maybe I have a soft spot for store life animes which is why I enjoy Denki-gai no HonEya-san. Though this one feels different from most store-life anime that I have watched in the past. I think it is because the staff are all crazy otakus in some sense of the word. I mean we have the Manga artist, the Manga expert, the Zombie otaku, and the main character who is generic obsessive otaku type. The story has a nice light hearted feel to it. Plus any anime where where a crazy Zombie otaku warps the words of someone and then proceeds to club them with a bat is a hilarious anime in my book. This one is kind of slow and easy to watch. Nothing wrong with an anime that is nice and refreshing.
Now then onto the Ultra-Violence choice for the season. This was the one category I struggled with because both of them are good. However, I decided to go with Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu. While Terra Formers is a good anime it has its flaws. Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu on the other hand is a bit less intense, but overall better right now. The main reason being that there is plenty of focus on the plot. Terra Formers focuses mainly on the violence and reasoning behind the powers of the individuals. It feels like Terra Formers is going to take a little while to get moving. As where Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu is moving just fine. So I would say pick that one if you are looking for a good series to keep up with. However, both are good so it really depends on what you want to see.
Now from dark horrible violence back to cute. Enter Hi Scoool! Seha Girl, I really enjoy this anime. Any anime that is about the obnoxious adventures of the various different Sega systems is great. The anime is also fun because they incorporate the games themselves into the anime. That part of the anime is what makes this anime really worth the watch. It is interesting to see how the games will be represented and how the girls will fit into the game. Plus it is on the shorter side, at about 11 minutes per episode. Again this is just one of the few anime that are just so much fun to watch.
Last I will go not quite as contrasting with Trinity Seven. The overall plot is interesting, but really what makes this anime great is the fact that the author found a new way to justify a harem anime. He said that magic is based on emotion so the strongest magic users are female because females are more prone to emotion. Plus I like Arata, he is not your standard loser male lead. He is pretty candid about everything and is not willing to be pushed around by the annoying brats that surround him. Well at least it feels that way he is no stronger than your average male lead. I just like the fact that he is blunt and is not afraid to speak what is on his mind. That makes the anime much more entertaining.
So there you have it, all the picks for stuff to watch. This is a rare season I actually managed to get through about 80% of all the anime that I could find. I am not as lazy this season. Not that it really makes much of a difference to you guys. Anyway, I hope that this will make your life a little easier now that we might not be sure what to watch or something like that. I guess I had better start working on the other list so you guys have that to guide you as well.
