The Curse of Manga
You know sometimes I feel it is good that I have pretty much stopped reading manga. You know because the majority of anime derives from manga. So it is like getting a whole set of spoilers for the entire series that is to come. Well I made the mistake of reading a few of the mangas for stuff I am currently watching. To be honest I am not sure if that was a mistake or not.
I am going to start off with Aku no Hana. I was pretty pissed off at episode eight. So I decided that it was time to go ahead on the manga and see where it goes. Well I am not really sure how I feel about doing that now. I mean the last episode I just watched kind of lost all of its impact. Then again, this part of the series is a less intense part, but still when it just seems to go on word for word it kind of.. well sucks. I am not sure if I really want to keep on watching. Then again, there are plenty of major arches and I am wondering exactly where this one will end up.
Then we suffer from curse number two, I like the manga better. Right now the animes this one applies to are Bleach and Naruto. Ah yes the current reigning champions that will never die. Yeah those ones, even though they are really cool to see animated. The main problem with them is they are constantly being side-tracked by those annoying things called fillers. I think that is what drives me away from those series these days. I mean I like the manga, because even the side stories have a point. They actually go over history and stuff like that. They are not just there to buy time so the manga can get ahead by a bit. Lucky for me the ones I am reading have not suffered from this one yet.
Then comes the third curse of reading the manga, liking the manga art more. To be honest I do not think I have seen an anime where I like the art better than the manga. I am not sure why this is to be honest. I mean why the hell is the art so much better in the manga? I guess I will never know, I think it is because the manga tends to be much rougher than the anime since I am pretty sure that the manga is still drawn by hand. Well regardless, that is really the last vice that I have when it comes to my decision to read the manga. However, there is always the annoyance of me being impatient.
Yeah that stupid thing that gets me from time to time. I get tired of waiting for the anime to actually come out with something so I have to read ahead. I mean eventually I will hit the manga wall and will be screwed, but at least when I hit the manga wall I can put it out of my mind and distract myself with all the anime. I mean there are many interesting things that can happen with an anime. You know like with Love Hina where the anime just went off on its own little quest to prove something.. or waste time I am not sure.
Well anyway, I guess that is all I really have to say about the curse of reading Manga. Yeah it is not much to talk about to be honest, but when is that ever something that can happen? I mean there are times when I can read and watch a series, but other times I just watch.. I guess that only happens when I am too lazy to find the manga, and other times I just read. Oh well, it is nice to know that option is there to read and read and read and hit the wall. A major benefit is I know when to stop watching the anime. After all, if it is not part of the manga it is not really part of the main story no matter what ties to the main story are made.
